1242 North Lake Shore Drive was built in 1929 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places under the Gold Coast Historic District in 1978. CTLGroup developed a comprehensive facade repair program to address persistent water infiltration issues and other masonry distress observed. Our work included facade evaluation, repair prioritzation, preparation of repair documents, and construction administration & observation. CTLGroup reviewed the project details for conformance with the existing aesthetics, durability, expected useful life and associated maintenance, constructability, and potential resistance to water leakage.
In addition, CTLGroup was retained as the in-house architectural consultant with respect to interior renovations and window repair/ replacement. CTLGroup reviewed proposed unit improvements to ensure they were compliant with current Chicago Building Code and Condominium Rules and Regulations.
